It provides a solid mounting surface for the closer body when clearance or mounting surface is limited. Suitable for top jamb mounts when overhead ceiling clearance is less than 1-3/4 inches (45 millimeters) or to provide clearance for a surface applied stop or holder. This drop plate will permit parallel arm installations when the door rail is less than 2-1/2 inches (64 millimeters) high.
