These taps are designed to remove dirt, corrosion and debris from LS series or any engine with 11 x 2mm head bolts and 8 x 1.25mm accessory or stud holes. These chaser taps are specifically designed to clean threads without removing metal. Chaser taps are for cleaning and straightening existing threads, not cutting new treads or removing metal from the root of the screw thread, which can cause failure. Cleaning threads is a necessity for proper torqeuing of bolts and screws.
